A burning clutch smell and rattle were coming from the engine bay. Replacing the traction motor stopped the smell and noise, but Clutch 1 zero position learning would not complete and the battery warning light kept flashing.

The transmission had been removed and the traction motor replaced with a second-hand unit. The vehicle could be driven, but the Clutch 1 learning routine kept returning result code 22. The 12 V battery and charging system had been checked and were reported as good.
