Customer Complaint

The battery went flat overnight and the engine would not start the following morning.

Problem Summary

The battery measured 3.0V. It was charged overnight but failed a carbon-pile load test and required replacement. Another mechanic had already investigated the drain without finding the cause.

An aftermarket radio was fitted, and the right rear window and central locking did not work. A full scan recorded 30 faults across several systems, including the instrument cluster, door modules and alarm sensors. About six faults returned after clearing and rescanning, so testing was needed to identify the cause of the drain.
