Customer Complaint

Engine code D5254T2.
Vehicle came in for a Timing belt.
It was supposed to be a straight forward timing belt job on a friday.

Problem Summary

From my data providers instructions no special tools were required except the crankshaft pulley holding tool 9995433 to perform this job.

However, once you need to replace seals behind the camshaft it’s a whole new playing field.
The job went from a 3 hour repair to 8 hours.

Now the information was very hard to get and very specific (My data providers did not have it all), I was very lucky to get it from a different source.

Anyway that’s the back ground and thought it very important that I share this information with other TAT members so that they don’t have to put it on a truck to Volvo as I almost did.
Here is the procedure I followed.
