Customer Complaint

The car wouldn’t drive over 50 km/h when using the pedal but it could be driven all day at any speed with the cruise control.

If the speed went above 50 km/h on the cruise control and the cruise control was turned off, the vehicle would lose throttle response until it dropped back under 50 km/h again.

Problem Summary

Even when the vehicle was behaving like this it would not log any codes.

The car had been to several shops and an assortment of parts had been thrown at it. It began with new plugs and coils, followed by a new fuel pump.

Then followed two acceleration pedal position sensors, one secondhand and one new throttle body, one secondhand and one reconditioned PCM, two secondhand clusters, a secondhand ABS module, a brake switch and all speed sensors.

None of these replacements fixed the problem.
