The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) module energises individual solenoid coils inside the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) to modulate brake pressure at each wheel during ABS, traction control, or stability control events. DTC C1256 sets when the ABS module detects that the Right Rear (RR) inlet valve coil drive circuit is shorted to battery voltage, meaning the module sees an unintended positive supply on the low side of the coil drive when the driver is commanded off.
