Code Information

This DTC is stored when the Skid Control ECU, part of the ABS and VSC system, detects a malfunction in the electrical circuit of the brake booster pump motor. The booster pump motor builds and maintains hydraulic pressure in the brake actuator or accumulator for brake assist and stability control functions. C1253 is triggered when the ECU detects an open, short to ground, or short to battery in the motor circuit, or if the motor current is outside the specified range during operation.
