Traction Control Module Request Circuit Failure
C1447 — Traction Control Module Request Circuit Failure
System: Chassis | Type: Manufacturer-Specific | Make: Generic
C1447 is a manufacturer-specific chassis diagnostic trouble code. It belongs to the C-prefix family of codes, which covers chassis, braking, steering, suspension, or stability-control faults.
When C1447 is stored, the module has detected an electrical-circuit fault in the wiring, connector, or driver associated with the named component.
Scanning & clearing: Chassis (C) codes are stored in the ABS, traction control, or stability-control modules. An enhanced or OEM-level scan tool is usually required to read and clear them.
C1447 is a manufacturer-specific code. The same code string on a different make may have a different meaning. Always confirm the code's definition against the vehicle's service information for the specific make and model under test.
The C1447 fault code indicates a fault has been detected on the traction control module request circuit. On platforms with separate engine and traction control modules, the traction control module requests torque reduction from the engine module via a discrete request signal or serial communication when wheel slip is detected. This code is set when the engine or chassis module detects an invalid request signal, an implausible request state, or a failure of the request circuit to acknowledge. When this code is active, traction control torque reduction is typically disabled, the traction control...
