Left Front Wheel Pressure Reduction Performance Problem
C1511 — Left Front Wheel Pressure Reduction Performance Problem
System: Chassis | Type: Manufacturer-Specific | Make: Generic
C1511 is a manufacturer-specific chassis diagnostic trouble code. It belongs to the C-prefix family of codes, which covers chassis, braking, steering, suspension, or stability-control faults.
When C1511 is stored, the module has detected a plausibility fault — the measured value is in the electrical range but is not consistent with expected operating behaviour.
Scanning & clearing: Chassis (C) codes are stored in the ABS, traction control, or stability-control modules. An enhanced or OEM-level scan tool is usually required to read and clear them.
C1511 is a manufacturer-specific code. The same code string on a different make may have a different meaning. Always confirm the code's definition against the vehicle's service information for the specific make and model under test.
During an ABS event the control module reduces hydraulic pressure at an individual wheel by opening that wheel's outlet valve in the hydraulic control unit, allowing the pump to return fluid to the master cylinder circuit so the wheel can recover grip. Code C1511 is set when the module commands a pressure reduction at the left front wheel but the wheel speed response indicates brake pressure did not actually fall, with the wheel continuing to slip or approach lockup. This is a performance fault rather than a simple electrical fault, so it points to the hydraulic side, such as a sticking outlet...
