DTC C1515 is set when the Power Steering ECU detects an abnormal signal from the steering torque sensor. The torque sensor sits on the steering column and measures the amount and direction of steering effort the driver applies, sending corresponding voltage signals, usually a main and a sub signal, to the ECU so it can decide how much assist to provide.
