Code Information

The electronic ride control system uses an actuator inside or on top of each shock absorber to vary damping firmness on command from the ride control module. DTC C1901 sets when the module detects a circuit failure, an open, short to ground, or short to battery, in the right rear shock actuator control circuit, so it can no longer reliably drive that damper. The actuator is typically a solenoid or small motor that changes a valve or orifice inside the shock to switch between soft and firm damping.
