The B1526 fault code is set by the Body Control Module (BCM) when it detects that one of the keyless entry circuits is shorted to ground when it should be at a high reference state. The BCM holds the receiver signal lines, exterior keypad inputs, and door lock control switch returns at a controlled high level (typically through an internal pull up resistor) and watches for a momentary pull to ground when a switch is pressed or a remote signal is received.
