The Restraints Control Module (RCM) monitors the integrity of the airbag diagnostic monitor ground circuit by checking the voltage present on the ground pin. DTC B1911 is set when the RCM detects battery voltage on the diagnostic monitor ground circuit, indicating that the ground path has shorted to a 12V source somewhere in the harness or at the module connector.
