Code Information

The Engine Control Module regulates high pressure fuel delivery by pulse width modulating the injection pump fuel metering control solenoid, which throttles the volume of fuel allowed into the pumping elements and therefore controls rail pressure. DTC P0259 sets when the ECM detects that the voltage on fuel metering control circuit B is higher than the expected range for the commanded state, which on a low side driver circuit indicates the driver cannot pull the circuit down, consistent with an open circuit, a high resistance joint, or a short to battery voltage.
