P1119 is a manufacturer-specific powertrain diagnostic trouble code recorded for Ford vehicles. It belongs to the P-prefix family of codes, which covers engine, transmission, emissions, or fuel-system faults.
When P1119 is stored, the module has detected a signal or supply voltage higher than the expected operating range.
Scanning & clearing: A generic OBD-II scan tool will usually read and clear powertrain (P) codes. For live data, freeze-frame capture, and bi-directional tests you may need a more capable scan tool that supports the vehicle's ECM protocol.

The P1119 code sets when the PCM sees the Manifold Air Temperature (MAT) sensor signal voltage above the calibrated threshold for a valid reading. The MAT sensor is a negative temperature coefficient thermistor, so its signal voltage rises as the manifold air gets colder, and a high input corresponds to an implausibly cold indicated air temperature. This normally points to an open circuit in the signal or ground wire, a disconnected sensor, or a sensor that has failed with very high resistance, rather than genuinely cold air.
