The Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) sensor provides the Engine Control Module (ECM) with more than one signal so it can cross check the driver demand, and sensor C is one of these signals. DTC P1215 is set when the ECM detects that the pedal position sensor C signal voltage is below its normal operating range, a low input condition. This typically means the signal circuit is shorted to ground, has an open in the signal or reference, or the sensor element is producing too low an output.
