Code Information

The throttle position sensor is a potentiometer supplied with a regulated 5V reference and a low reference (sensor ground) by the Engine Control Module (ECM), and the wiper returns a signal voltage proportional to throttle opening. The 5V reference is generated inside the ECM and is very often shared with several other sensors on the same circuit, which is why a fault on this rail rarely stays contained to one sensor.
