Injector Circuit Open Cylinder 3
P1239 — Injector Circuit Open Cylinder 3
System: Powertrain | Type: Manufacturer-Specific | Make: Audi
P1239 is a manufacturer-specific powertrain diagnostic trouble code recorded for Audi vehicles. It belongs to the P-prefix family of codes, which covers engine, transmission, emissions, or fuel-system faults.
When P1239 is stored, the module has detected an open (broken or disconnected) electrical path in the monitored circuit.
Scanning & clearing: A generic OBD-II scan tool will usually read and clear powertrain (P) codes. For live data, freeze-frame capture, and bi-directional tests you may need a more capable scan tool that supports the vehicle's ECM protocol.
P1239 is a manufacturer-specific code. The same code string on a different make may have a different meaning. Always confirm the code's definition against the vehicle's service information for the specific make and model under test.
The cylinder 3 fuel injector is supplied with battery voltage through the fuel pump relay or an injector fuse, and the Engine Control Module completes the circuit by switching the low side to ground for the calculated pulse width. Since the injector winding forms the electrical link between the supply and the driver, the module can identify a broken circuit from the absence of the expected voltage behaviour and the lack of current flow when injection is commanded. DTC P1239 is stored when the ECM detects an open circuit in the cylinder 3 injector circuit, meaning the current path has been inte...
