Code Information

This fault code is stored when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects an open circuit or no current flow in the heater circuit of the Bank 1 Sensor 2 downstream oxygen sensor, located after the catalytic converter. The heater normally draws current to bring the sensor up to operating temperature quickly after start up so the ECM can monitor catalytic converter efficiency. If the ECM does not see the expected current draw when the heater is commanded on, it judges the circuit open and sets this fault.
