Rough road sensor fault
P1307 — Rough road sensor fault
System: Powertrain | Type: Manufacturer-Specific | Make: Hyundai
P1307 is a manufacturer-specific powertrain diagnostic trouble code recorded for Hyundai vehicles. It belongs to the P-prefix family of codes, which covers engine, transmission, emissions, or fuel-system faults.
When P1307 is stored, the module has detected a sensor-related fault — the reported value from the named sensor is out of spec.
Scanning & clearing: A generic OBD-II scan tool will usually read and clear powertrain (P) codes. For live data, freeze-frame capture, and bi-directional tests you may need a more capable scan tool that supports the vehicle's ECM protocol.
P1307 is a manufacturer-specific code. The same code string on a different make may have a different meaning. Always confirm the code's definition against the vehicle's service information for the specific make and model under test.
To avoid false misfire detection, the Engine Control Module uses a rough road sensor, a small accelerometer also called a G sensor, to recognise when the vehicle is travelling over a rough surface. Bumps and corrugations momentarily disturb crankshaft speed in a way that can mimic a misfire, so when the rough road sensor reports rough conditions the ECM suspends misfire monitoring. DTC P1307 is set on Hyundai and Kia vehicles when the ECM detects a fault in the rough road sensor or its circuit, such as an out of range signal, an open, or a short. On some models the rough road information is ta...
