Code Information

This accelerator pedal assembly uses three accelerator pedal position sensors to give the ECM redundant confirmation of driver demand in the electronic throttle system. DTC P1272 sets when the ECM detects that the accelerator pedal position sensor 2 and sensor 3 signals do not agree within their expected relationship. Each sensor runs on its own reference and ground and tracks pedal travel with a defined ratio, so when sensor 2 and sensor 3 disagree the ECM loses confidence in the pedal input and limits power.
