Code Information

This DTC is set in the Transmission Control Module (TCM) when it detects an invalid, missing, or implausible Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) signal transmitted from the Engine Control Module (ECM) over the CAN (Controller Area Network) communication line. The TCM uses ECT data to adjust shift timing, line pressure, and torque converter lockup strategy. If the signal from the ECM is interrupted, out of range, or not received within the expected time window, the TCM logs this fault and typically reverts to a default coolant temperature value.
