Chassis Acceleration Sensor Signal Low
P1308 — Chassis Acceleration Sensor Signal Low
System: Powertrain | Type: Manufacturer-Specific | Make: Kia
P1308 is a manufacturer-specific powertrain diagnostic trouble code recorded for Kia vehicles. It belongs to the P-prefix family of codes, which covers engine, transmission, emissions, or fuel-system faults.
When P1308 is stored, the module has detected a signal or supply voltage lower than the expected operating range; and a sensor-related fault — the reported value from the named sensor is out of spec.
Scanning & clearing: A generic OBD-II scan tool will usually read and clear powertrain (P) codes. For live data, freeze-frame capture, and bi-directional tests you may need a more capable scan tool that supports the vehicle's ECM protocol.
P1308 is a manufacturer-specific code. The same code string on a different make may have a different meaning. Always confirm the code's definition against the vehicle's service information for the specific make and model under test.
The chassis acceleration sensor, or G sensor, measures vehicle acceleration forces and returns a voltage signal to the control module that manages systems such as all wheel drive torque distribution or vehicle stability. DTC P1308 sets when the module sees the acceleration sensor signal voltage stay below the normal operating range, a low signal that does not rise to its expected rest value or respond to vehicle motion. A signal stuck low is typically caused by a short to ground in the signal circuit, an open signal or supply wire, a failed sensor, or a lost reference voltage. When the code is...
