P1200 is a manufacturer-specific powertrain diagnostic trouble code recorded for Toyota vehicles. It belongs to the P-prefix family of codes, which covers engine, transmission, emissions, or fuel-system faults.

When P1200 is stored, the module has detected an electrical-circuit fault in the wiring, connector, or driver associated with the named component.

Scanning & clearing: A generic OBD-II scan tool will usually read and clear powertrain (P) codes. For live data, freeze-frame capture, and bi-directional tests you may need a more capable scan tool that supports the vehicle's ECM protocol.

Code Information

This DTC sets when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects an electrical malfunction in the fuel pump relay circuit. The ECM controls the fuel pump relay, and through it the fuel pump, to maintain correct fuel pressure for the injectors, and it monitors the control circuit for correct operation. If the relay fails to activate, sticks closed, or the circuit reads open or shorted, the ECM logs this fault. Depending on the failure the engine may crank but not start, stall, or suffer fuel starvation under load, and a warning lamp may illuminate.
