DTC B0045 sets when the Airbag Control Module (ACM) detects a short to ground or an out of range resistance in the Left Hand Front (LHF) side airbag deployment loop. The ACM monitors this firing circuit by measuring its resistance, and a reading below the calibrated window points to a short to earth or a low resistance wiring fault within the loop. The side airbag is a pyrotechnic device mounted in the seat or door that deploys to cushion the occupant in a side impact, so its firing circuit must remain within specification for the module to command deployment.
