The airbag control module, called the Center Airbag Sensor Assembly or SRS ECU on Toyota, continuously monitors the left hand side airbag squib circuit and expects to see the low resistance, typically around 2 ohms, of the squib bridge wire. DTC B0116 sub code 48 sets when the module measures an open circuit or excessively high resistance in that firing loop, meaning the current path needed to deploy the airbag is broken.
