The generator motor temperature sensor is a thermistor that reports the temperature of the generator motor to the powertrain or motor control module for thermal protection. In the common configuration the module feeds the sensor through an internal pull up resistor, so the signal voltage falls as the thermistor gets hot and its resistance drops.
