Second-Row Left Frontal Stage 3 Deployment Control Circuit
B0033 — Second-Row Left Frontal Stage 3 Deployment Control Circuit
System: Body | Type: Generic (OBD-II Standard) | Make: Holden
B0033 is a generic (obd-ii standard) body diagnostic trouble code recorded for Holden vehicles. It belongs to the B-prefix family of codes, which covers body, interior, airbag, or comfort-electronics faults.
When B0033 is stored, the module has detected an electrical-circuit fault in the wiring, connector, or driver associated with the named component.
Scanning & clearing: Body (B) codes are often stored in the body control module, airbag module, or climate module. A basic OBD-II tool usually will not read body codes — an enhanced or OEM-level scan tool is typically required.
Because B0033 is a generic OBD-II code, its base definition is shared across manufacturers. The specific diagnostic steps, reference values, and repair procedures can vary by vehicle, and the TaT Diagnostic Assistant includes verified procedures submitted by working technicians.
The Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM / Airbag Control Module) continuously monitors the second-row left frontal Stage 3 deployment loop for correct electrical characteristics. DTC B0033 is set when the SDM detects a fault in the Stage 3 deployment control circuit, such as circuit resistance outside the calibrated range, an open circuit, or a short to earth or battery voltage. When this condition is present, the SDM determines that reliable deployment of the Stage 3 inflator cannot be guaranteed and disables the affected restraint circuit, illuminating the SRS warning indicator.
