P1219 is a manufacturer-specific powertrain diagnostic trouble code recorded for Ford vehicles. It belongs to the P-prefix family of codes, which covers engine, transmission, emissions, or fuel-system faults.

When P1219 is stored, the module has detected a signal or supply voltage lower than the expected operating range.

Scanning & clearing: A generic OBD-II scan tool will usually read and clear powertrain (P) codes. For live data, freeze-frame capture, and bi-directional tests you may need a more capable scan tool that supports the vehicle's ECM protocol.

Code Information

On Ford applications the CID, or Cylinder Identification, signal is generated by the camshaft position sensor and used by the PCM, and the injector driver module on diesel applications, to identify which cylinder is on its compression stroke so that fuel injection can be sequenced correctly. DTC P1219 is set when the PCM detects that the CID signal circuit voltage is low, meaning the signal is stuck low, shorted to ground, or the sensor is not producing a signal.
