The customer reported that the engine light was on. The EGR valve had previously been replaced by a mine site workshop. Despite the fault, the engine ran normally and did not go into de-rate mode.

Fault code P2413 “EGR System Malfunction” was stored in the PCM. The code could be cleared and would stay off while driving, even under load at operating temperature, but returned immediately after cycling the ignition off and back on.
