Customer Complaint

The vehicle presented with a blown head gasket. Following head gasket repairs, the turbo actuator rod on the top turbo was inadvertently disconnected.

Problem Summary

After reassembly, the vehicle showed underboosting with fault codes P0299 (Turbo/Supercharger underboost), P22D5 (Turbocharger turbine inlet valve position sensor circuit), and P22D2 (Turbocharger turbine inlet valve stuck open). Attempts to reset the VGT actuator rod by measuring and adjusting linkage length did not resolve the issue, and the codes immediately returned after clearing and road testing.
