Customer Complaint

The vehicle cranks but will not start.

Problem Summary

During diagnosis, a full system scan revealed no communication with the engine control module (ECM/DME). The 5-volt reference supply was present. On removal, the ECM was found to be full of water damage. The customer had sourced a replacement ECM and wanted to know if reprogramming was possible given the lack of communication with the original unit.
