The vehicle developed a diesel knock while driving, followed by loss of power, black smoke, and engine cut-out. Initially it presented with a misfire.

Fault code P2147 – Injector Group A, supply voltage too low – was stored. Injectors were tested and failed, so they were replaced along with seals, rectifying the misfire. After 1400 km of normal driving, intermittent diesel knock returned, worsening under load. Eventually the knock became severe, the engine light illuminated, and P2147 returned consistently. Multiple fuel system components were replaced, including the fuel rail, high-pressure pump, fuel lines, and filter, but the fault persisted.
