Customer reported intermittent hard starting when cold. On some mornings the engine would crank longer than normal, start roughly and blow a small cloud of smoke before settling.

Speaking with a colleague, they noted cold-start roughness and intermittent smoke on vehicles fitted with the 1.8 MPI Nu engine (i30 GD and Elantra MD) is a known issue that has a software update.
