Cruise control will not activate even though the cruise control indicator light illuminates with the steering-wheel switch.

The vehicle originally had a cruise control light that would not turn off. Diagnosis confirmed no continuity through the clock spring, so the clock spring was replaced. After replacement, the cruise control light operated normally, but the cruise system itself still would not engage.

Live data showed no functional response from the cruise switch, despite the indicator light working, and all other relevant inputs appeared normal.
