The vehicle was difficult to select reverse gear. Most attempts required several tries, and holding the selector in reverse resulted in 1st gear being engaged with a prompt to select neutral. Once reverse was eventually engaged it operated correctly, and forward gears drove normally.

The complaint was confined to selecting reverse, with forward gear engagement and driving otherwise normal. The vehicle uses an automated manual transmission with a hydraulic actuator assembly, and the selector itself was responding to driver input while the gearbox was not consistently following through to reverse.
