Code Information

The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) module controls hydraulic solenoid valves inside the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) to modulate brake pressure at each wheel. The Left Front (LF) outlet, or dump, valve releases trapped brake pressure during anti-lock and stability events. DTC C1197 is the short to ground variant of the left front outlet valve coil fault and is set when the module detects the coil control circuit shorted to ground or chassis, drawing excessive current or pulling the circuit low outside the module control.
