Code Information

The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) module energises inlet and outlet solenoid valves within the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) by switching the low side of each coil to ground while the high side is fed from a switched battery rail. DTC C1216 sets when the ABS module detects that the right front inlet valve coil control circuit is shorted to battery voltage, typically by sensing that the driver pin remains at or near supply voltage when the module commands it low, or by detecting excessive current draw through the high side feed.
