Ignition Run/Acc Circuit Failure
B1359 — Ignition Run/Acc Circuit Failure
System: Body | Type: Manufacturer-Specific | Make: Generic
B1359 is a manufacturer-specific body diagnostic trouble code. It belongs to the B-prefix family of codes, which covers body, interior, airbag, or comfort-electronics faults.
When B1359 is stored, the module has detected an electrical-circuit fault in the wiring, connector, or driver associated with the named component.
Scanning & clearing: Body (B) codes are often stored in the body control module, airbag module, or climate module. A basic OBD-II tool usually will not read body codes — an enhanced or OEM-level scan tool is typically required.
B1359 is a manufacturer-specific code. The same code string on a different make may have a different meaning. Always confirm the code's definition against the vehicle's service information for the specific make and model under test.
The Body Control Module (BCM) monitors the ignition run and accessory (Run/Acc) circuit, which is a combined feed energised whenever the ignition switch is rotated to either the ACC or RUN position. The BCM uses this signal to enable accessory features such as the radio, power windows, and HVAC blower, as well as to coordinate transitions between key positions. DTC B1359 sets when the BCM detects an abnormal voltage state on the Run/Acc input, such as missing voltage when the key is commanded to ACC or RUN, voltage present when the key is OFF, or a signal pattern that does not correlate with t...
