Code Information

The Driver Door Module (DDM), seat module, or Body Control Module (BCM) monitors the seat direction switch assembly used to operate the power seat motors. DTC B1546 is set when the controlling module detects that a seat direction switch signal circuit is held continuously at ground potential when no operator input is being made. The seat direction switch grounds individual signal lines to the module only momentarily when a button is pressed, so a permanent ground on a signal line indicates the wiring or switch has shorted to chassis ground unintentionally.
