Code Information

The Restraints Control Module (RCM) monitors the airbag warning indicator lamp circuit on the instrument cluster to verify the SRS warning lamp can be commanded on and off correctly. DTC B1870 sets when the RCM detects that the airbag warning indicator lamp circuit is shorted to battery voltage. The RCM expects the circuit to sit at ground or near ground when commanded off, so when it reads battery voltage on the line during the off state it logs this code.
