Code Information

The Smart Junction Box (SJB) monitors the power supply feed to the turn signal and hazard flasher switch circuit. DTC B1873 is set when the SJB detects that the power feed wire to the turn signal or hazard switch is shorted to ground, pulling the controlled voltage line low when it should be at the commanded level. The SJB controls flasher logic and supplies power to the multifunction switch through this circuit, so a short to ground starves the switch of voltage and prevents the SJB from commanding the lamps correctly.
