Code Information

The Restraints Control Module (RCM) monitors the resistance of the passenger airbag squib circuit during normal operation and at every key on self test. DTC B1888 is set when the RCM detects the measured resistance across the passenger airbag deployment loop is below the calibrated low threshold, or when the two squib conductors appear shorted together. The passenger airbag module is mounted in the dashboard above the glove box, and the squib loop runs from the RCM through a fixed harness behind the dash to the yellow connector at the airbag itself.
