Code Information

The Restraints Control Module (RCM) monitors the dedicated memory clear input circuit, which is used by an external diagnostic tool (through the data link or service connector) to momentarily pull the line to ground and command the RCM to clear stored airbag system codes and crash event data. DTC B1923 is set when the RCM detects that this memory clear input is permanently held at ground potential when no clear command should be present.
