DTC P1191 is a Mazda specific code that sets when the powertrain control module (PCM) detects that the power supply, or reference voltage, feeding the throttle position sensor (TPS) has fallen outside its expected range. The TPS depends on a stable 5V reference from the PCM to report throttle plate angle, and on many Mazda circuits that same 5V feed is shared with other sensors.
