Code Information

The electronic throttle body contains two independent position potentiometers, referred to as throttle actuation potentiometer signal 1 and signal 2, which report the actual angle of the throttle plate back to the Engine Control Module (ECM). The two signals are deliberately given different characteristics, so that one rises while the other falls or moves on a different slope, allowing the ECM to continuously cross check them and detect a faulty track.
