Code Information

When the Engine Control Module fires an injector it ramps the drive current up to a defined target within a defined window and then holds it there. On a direct injection engine that ramp is fed from a boosted high voltage supply generated inside the module, and on a port injection engine it comes from battery voltage through the injector winding.
