Code Information

Some Kia engines use an ignition timing adjustment connector, a service connector that a technician grounds to command the Engine Control Module (ECM) into a fixed base ignition timing mode for checking and setting timing. DTC P1330 sets when the ECM detects this adjustment connector circuit shorted to ground during normal operation, when it should be open. With the circuit grounded the ECM holds base timing and withholds normal spark advance.
