The air fuel ratio sensor on Bank 1 Sensor 1 is a wideband oxygen sensor that reports the precise air fuel ratio in the exhaust to the engine control module for closed loop fuel control. During deceleration the ECM usually enters fuel cut, so with little or no fuel being burned the exhaust goes strongly lean and the sensor should swing to report that lean condition.
