The Engine Control Module monitors the Bank 2 Sensor 1 upstream oxygen sensor during deceleration fuel cut off, the period when injection is suspended and the exhaust should read fully lean. With fuel shut off, the ECM expects the upstream sensor voltage to fall promptly to its lean value.
