The engine was intermittently hard to start, usually when warm, and would sometimes run rough after starting. The customer reported that the vehicle would sometimes run normally after cycling the key and restarting, but the fault was becoming more frequent.

The engine started normally when the vehicle was moved into the workshop. Initial checks included basic electrical, battery and charging system checks before a full electronic scan was carried out. The relevant stored history fault code was P0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 1.
